Psychotherapy for Educators
Because I am also an educator, I have a deep understanding of the personal challenges of working in this field. While education is not publicly acknowledged to be a personal endeavor, there is no doubt that it is deeply personal. Anyone who has taught a class of 20 + students, or run a staff meeting of teachers knows this intuitively. We find ourselves caught in dynamics with our students and with our colleagues that grip us, and seem out of our control. I can help you understand these dynamics so that you can act rather than re-act in difficult situations. This kind of control will help you negotiate the reality that the personal is the professional, but that this does not have to be a problem.
